On today's talking heads programs the White House and other Democratx started their usual routine--more money for Social Security and Medicare and tax cuts should be smaller and targeted to the poor. That would indicate that Dems will try to keep capital gains tax. I wonder, is it cheaper to eliminate the capital gains tax and let folks sell assets and not pay tax or tax for benefits? I also wonder what the locked up capital gains are for the baby boomers.
