I am currently out of IOM for various reasons. But, I believe that Sony and or Fuji will buy out IOM anytime within the next 5 years...fwiw.

You have to love the fact that Sony's buying and giving away Iomega's Zip drives at this late juncture in time.

FWIW In the recent news Glore had stated that IOM had component shortages in the OEM drives but in other news it was stated that IOM had shipped 25 million drives.

The implication is that the OEM's are demanding more drives than had
been planned for and that the 25 millionth drive shipped was on schedule for around 1 million per month, that the extra demand had been put on normal supply not that supply was short. Further that Zip is still increasing in volume not shrinking as some would suggest.
