<< will brush off GATA like a horse's tail swatting a fly>> wasp - insect able to inflict a painful sting Phil, the very first science fiction novel I read was titled "wasp" and eventho it took place in a future year at another place outside our solar system, the story was a simple one of good fighting evil, easy to tell with GATA as good. The evil was big and all powerful and controled everything except those little things that they knew that they could squash, like stepping on or swatting a bug. So the good looked for stuff to fight the bad and saw all weapons and objects used to combat evil outlawed. So what was available ? Bugs, like bees with the meat eating wasp at the top of the list. How used as a weapon to inflict damage more than a sting ? How to crush and destroy or cause massive destruction with a sting ? Transmit a poison or disease using wasp sting as a delivery system ? Nope, as all chemical and bacteria and virues off limits to citizens. Also, all labs and stuff needed to build support system off limits. So just a sting ? Nope. Just the possibility of a sting was needed to destroy the enemy. How, you ask. (fast forward many pages in novel) "..... the cars carrying the top geneals and leaders left the roads at high speeds, crashing into the gutters....airplanes also crashed...." "... seems that the drivers were distracted as they worried about the wasps buzzing around their heads..." So, no need for GATA to push in a stinger, just that the possibility of it to happen will make those "guilty" people sweat and .... mis-step and trip over their own feet and make mistakes to advoid a sting. doug
