OJ...

I don't know about that surprise part...I know he's never done a 1/2 pt. And likes to do in series once the direction change is decided...But??? This time could be different. I was under the impression they would raise 6/30. I guess we'll know soon enough...

Personally I'd like for him to take back the .50 and lets move on....my only concern now will be a restriction of credit this fall just as Y2K fears start to kick in. But I'll worry more about that in the next Quarter. For now...I'm ready for good earnings.

Sweet dreams...<g>

Jeff

OJ...I agree with you. I see Mr Greenspan as a cautions fellow that does not want to spook the market. 0.25 points with a neutral bias is my guess. To even do this 1/4 is questionable in light of no inflation. IMHO Also did you notice the way banks held up on Friday. I guess I thought there would be more of a sell off if there was "real" fear. Just some of my thoughts.

Also did you see the piece on the dumping of oil on the U.S. markets?

U.S. Oil Producers To Seek Dumping Investigation
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - In response to a flood of crude oil imports, independent American oil producers will ask the U.S. government this week to investigate for the first time alleged crude oil dumping in the U.S. by foreign suppliers. It's unclear if the petition, to be filed as early as Monday, will be successful. The oilmen are also seeking help from Congress in the form of a special loan program.

Nitey Nite OJ...
