Tim ---

Mark's made it clear what he can and can't say and I find your questions more offensive than Candace's comment made in the heat of last week's stock drop.

Questions 1, 3, and 4 can't be answered by anyone in top management of any company. Question 2 doesn't even bear comment.

Pat

It might also help those of us who were wiped out by this stocks decline to understand why the wave was so big. I bought on margin at $20.25 believing that that was a bargain, only to see $12.75 (intra-day) roll by. That drop caused my account to have negative equity and I was sold out, which ensured the loss. Those who are long and not on margin can wait this out. Given the fundamentals of the company it will probably do what ASND did when it was out of favor. Drop to $22 only to be bought out by LU for $100. Apply the same ratios to a $15 price and you get $68. Not too far from the sell side analyst calls for $50 within a year.

Life is full of risks, understanding the ones that you have been through helps avoid them in the future.

Later, Dennis

Tim,

Thanks for your message. Just wanted to make sure public
record was properly documented. Besides, I hope everyone went back
and read that 6/11 press release!....<g> The Com21 board of
advisors has some really experienced people on it and I'm pleased
to be able to participate and interact with them. I'm not counting
myself in that set. Some of the advisors have been in CATV for
the past couple+ decades and are well known experts in the field.

Because I am so close to being away from Com21 and that I'm an
official advisor to the company, it's a little difficult for me
to state my opinion as people may feel that I still know too much
behind-the-scenes stuff about the company. So, in answer to:

Q1): I can't comment.
Q2): No comment, except: please observe that Com21 has come out
with an office cable modem product. Also note that Com21 is
a vendor author in the PacketCable effort (packet voice).
Q3): I can't comment. (I would like to know also!)
Q4): "Better product" is too open ended to comment directly. I will
note that product features, price, quality, reliability, company
friendliness and willingness to listen to cable operators, support,
participation in standards, etc. are all part of a "better product"
portfolio. Com21 pretty much addresses their position on these items
in their public information.

Cheers for now,
Mark
