SH,

Everyone here on the KOB thread is well aware of TRIL. They have been a point of discussion several times in the past.

You will have an extremely tough time convincing anyone on this thread to sell their interest in ELH right now, in order to buy into the TRIL play, who's spud date is not even known yet.
Your timing is a little off, IMHO.

<<< In my opinion, Kookaburra has already had its run. >>>
What are you basing this statement on???

I noticed that you are a new SI member as of June 22, 1999.
Welcome aboard.

Hi,
Why bash the ELH players for no reason? Looks to me that both ELH partners and TRIL will benefit greatly from an expansion in the number of deep SJ plays as this will draw in new market players with great effect on prices of all the players. Look what happened to Internet stock prices when there were relatively few cos involved and it suddenly became the thing to invest in. I don't think it is outside the realm of reason to think that something similar can happen here.

1. We have a positive atmosphere with both oil and gas acknowledged widely to be in recovery mode over the medium term (don't know if I fully agree myself but then who would have thought the Internet scene would have been so entrancing).

2. The play is novel - this is the first time anyone has gone that deep in SJ and found something big. (Once we hit there will be the inevitable if meaningless reruns of the blow-out which is certainly an attention grabber - and sure influenced the share prices when it first occurred.)

3. There are a large number of tech stock players in San Fran who will get most interested in something right in their back yard, especially when tech stocks look a bit toppie.

4. Premium prices, ease of tie-in and availability of supplies make this a much better prospect than something in more remote areas.

I don't know if you are a long-time holder of TRIL but it does seem to have had it's share of troubles in the past. Hopefully (as an investor in ELH) I hope it will have a great run. Your (positive) comments are welcome on this thread.
