More and more layers of spin. You've got the public spin, the background spin, the deep background spin, and the leaked spin. I really believe that the left hand spinner usually doesn't know what the right hand spinner is doing. Maybe the various WH cliques spin things to try to spin Clinton into their camp.

I've got a headache.

The motives for Mr. Clinton's aides and advisers to talk about the president's feelings toward Mr. Gore were not entirely clear. They may have been trying to help the vice president establish distance from the president. They may have been trying to demonstrate their closeness to Mr. Clinton. Or they may simply have been honestly reporting how Mr. Clinton and his inner circle have reacted to Mr. Gore's statements.

Was listening to the fat bastard on my 10 minute trip home for lunch and he was discussing this NY Times piece. I was amused to hear that the part where the authors were questioning the motives of the unnamed sources caught his eye too. The last and least likely possibility is that they were actually being honest.

Naaaaaaa.
