Art and Thread,

My bellweather site will sell out of 48 MB CompactFlash today.

I wonder if Eli and Company see this as a way to move up to the next highest megabit technology by letting the lower density cards sell out completely before introducing a successor. I see it as a form of planned "obsolescence" (the cards are actually never obsolete) or "reverse detailing" to insure that no inventory is left before the next product launch.

anythinginc.net

This site had regularly replenished inventory each week or so as volumes fell below 200 cards on hand. Today the inventory is down to 7 cards from 63 cards on Friday night (6/25/99). As I have documented, the site is also down from nearly 350 cards a week ago Monday (6/21/99).

Could it be possible that SNDK cannot keep up with demand???
Where are the 64 MB CF cards???
