To a lot of investors out there this should also serve to be a kind of independent validation of Bpi.

All, maybe I am reading too much into this, but in the 6th
paragraph of the release, where neuprex is described, take
a look at this

In addition to its ongoing I-PREX(TM) program, XOMA has
several BPI-derived products in development. NEUPREX®,
a systemic anti-infective product, is in Phase III trials
for two indications.

Is it just me, or is that phrase "a systemic anti-infective
product" a new addition to the standard press releases. I checked
a couple and didnt see these words, which i think are very
important words. is this xoma beginning to formalize neuprex
as something more than a menningo drug at last? is this just
me excited and reading too many tea leaves?

I still liked it.

Bob,
A handful of us have long maintained that Xoma has promise. I expect this will generate some interest in Xoma, but let's be honest, it's summer, all the big players are on vacation, the last thing they want to worry about is Xoma. It will take more than this to break us into new 5-year highs, but it might be enough to make current trading range stick. Looking forward to next meaningful announcement.
