TWE breaks IPO price level...well, not to gloat, but we all said it here before--"BIG FLOATS KILL" --unless you're talking ice cream sundaes.
Honestly, I must have posted 4 or 5 messages on the TWE IPO board during the final week, warning everyone that, a la BNBN, the best of issues can fall very hard when the float is too large. Even GS with its network of the industry's best market makers couldn't keep BNBN above water. TD doesn't compare to GS in market making cloat. This was one I cancelled early on when I saw how many shares were being offered (and that was BEFORE they increased the float by 25!!).
So to wrap up , we need to keep a focus on the FLOAT size, too, along with the quality of the lead underwriter, growth prospects for the industry, growth prospects for the company, and the level of interest or anticipation for this IPO ("buzz").
