Re: Osborne Effect

It is ironic that you mentioned this because one of the very questions I wanted to ask Mr. Harmon when I met him a few weeks ago was about the Osborne effect. I stated to him that it was my assumption that INTEL was very aware of this concern. I told him that I had found very little information about RAMBUS in the trade periodicals and I was wondering if it might be due to the caution over the Osborne effect. He confirmed my assumption with an immediate smile rather than a verbal response. I took this to be an affirmative.

I'm very satisfied with this assumption. In other words, in my opinion, INTEL will not really tout the value of RAMBUS on a big scale until it is on the shelves. They naturally don't want to hurt the OEMs today in any way.

INTEL is very smart and I trust their judgement. I would not bet against them no matter what the competition may say. I feel they know what is best for the future standards for the computer world. This is what RAMBUS is about and it is best for the vast majority of the computer industry except those betting against RAMBUS. INTEL knows the management of RAMBUS too and they are making a major initiative based upon the RAMBUS technology and the management.

I wanted to meet the management to get a feel of their competance among other questions. Having met these two men personally, I would trust them implicitly. They are very serious, intelligent and confident people. They are also extremely confident in the quality of their product designs.
