Sears Will Sell SanDisk Products
SanDisk-Branded Memory Cards For Consumer Electronics Products Will Be Sold By Sears Stores Nationally
SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 28, 1999--SanDisk Corporation (Nasdaq:SNDK - news) announced today that Sears, Roebuck and Co. will sell SanDisk-branded flash memory cards that are today widely used in consumer electronics products including digital cameras, MP3 Internet music players, handheld computers, audio recorders and smart phones.

Sears sells electronics through 850 full-line department stores.

Ed Moro, director of North American retail sales for SanDisk, said, ''Sears is one of the premier retailers in the country and its selection of SanDisk as its exclusive memory card supplier is a major sign of confidence for SanDisk products. Sears now carries an expanding array of consumer electronics products and its customers need reliable and economic memory cards to stores images, data and audio.''

Sears stores will sell SanDisk CompactFlash(TM)(CF(TM)) cards, MultiMediaCards, SmartMedia cards and the ImageMate card readers which allow consumers to quickly transfer pictures from the cards to their desktop PCs. CompactFlash, the size of a matchbook, is available in capacities ranging between 4 and 96 megabytes (MB). More than 170 products, including digital cameras, handheld PCs, audio recorders, MP3 players and camcorders, have been introduced with slots for CompactFlash cards. The newer MultiMediaCard, the size of a postage stamp, is available in capacities of 4, 8, 16 and 30MB and is being used in MP3 players, camcorders and smart phones. The SanDisk products will be available in Sears stores this summer. SmartMedia cards will be sold in capacities of 8 and 16MB.
