No I love wireless... but I don't understand.... help me out here, you or Pitera. I can call up metricom in Silicon Valley and pay $30/mo or whatever and get wireless modem access for internet. I can also pay cellular one a flat rate and talk on the phone and get internet access. (the internet part is new, last year or so). So why do I need metricom? It operates on a different band, I do know that and ricochet is only usuable in specific cities so if you go to San Diego or something you are SOL. I am under the impression ricochet has been eclipsed by the general wireless providers, and that is why it never took off. Its a niche player or something.
