Re: "Intel HAS NOT FALLEN FLAT ON ITS FACE in any one of them"

At least AMD measures its delays in months.

Intel is measuring Merced delays in YEARS.

Intel's abject failure to develop this product has REOPENED the window of opportunity for K7 and Alpha, after Intel had slammed that window shut with the success of the Pentium.

Back when Merced was announced, what were 1999 Merced revenues projected to be? Well over $1,000,000,000.00 I'd imagine. Intel will see about $0.00 of that. OUCH! If I still owned Intel, I'd want to see heads rolling!

The total business opportunity cost of Intel's Merced delay is likely far more than the entire market cap of AMD. I'd call that falling flat!
