How to open a WIT account by July 2nd?

I didnt get my CMGI code last week so today I faxed in my trade confirmation per their IR phone msg directions. In the meantime I thought I would see if I could open the WIT account now and then fill-in the CMGI code later - so I called WIT and they said no I couldnt and that the account has to be open AND fully funded by July 2nd - and that personal checks take 7 days to clear.

Therefore even if CMGI comes through with my code today (still waiting) there is no way I can get the account open in time unless I fedex the account application and use a wire transfer to fund the account. This is not what I call good investor relations!

Has anybody else heard this nonsense or was the guy from WIT wrong, I would think it would be sufficient for them to just receive the check by July 2nd as long as I dont need to trade against it before it clears...

(I am emailing a copy of this to CMGI investor relations as well)

Eloan (EELN) is handled by Etrade. Hence I have to open an account with E-trade. Yes I have to have accounts all over the place: Brown, Waterhouse, Etrade and Wit. Very soon I will have a pronblem with span of control. I will just see how these IPO will come out. Have you check the bio's of Wit Capital management? Very very impressive. That is why I bought shares in the company this morning. They are going to make money from me, and I want to make money from them in return.

Best wishes

Paul

Freeus,

just got in touch with ETrade about Eloan IPO and asked about a window of opportunity. The window at Etrade is about 2 hours, during which you can indicate your interest (IOI). If you ahve enough enough in the account when IPO takes place, they will let you know how many shares you will get. So don't need to wait at the computer once IOI has been received by Etrade.

Under directed shares program, you'll get the shares if the IOI has been accepted and evaluated as eligible. The question is how many shares. Under open IPO, you usually get round lots, more likely 100 shares.

Maybe Wit Capital operates the same way.

Best wishes

Paul
