If they ever do make a payment, they get to reset the clock for another two years. Neat deal, huh. I myself am not discounting the possibility of the ultimate, no-holds-barred tout marathon of all time by all concerned beginning before the end of 1999. If They run MU up past the price where they can force a conversion of the bonds into stock, MU avoids paying the interest (well, avoids defaulting for not paying the interest). I think that price is 87 or so, by 1/1/2000.

To All, Spin alert. Anyone notice the spin about a great earnings warning season. Today Philip Morris and Seagate preannounced, but they are still saying great season. MU had a huge miss and didn't preannounce, but that doesn't change the hard English on the spin. It is somewhat amazing that these folks seem to read off the same script no matter what the reality. What I wonder is, who writes the scripts for the zombies to read? <g>
