<OT> Thomas - Looks Like Saddam Won the War

Thomas - Thanks for posting that article. I had forgotten that Slick Willie used the Kosovo situation to distract all attention away from Iraq. Remember how nine months ago Slick Willie was using the global threat of Saddam and his poison missiles to distract attention away from Monica. Funny how we haven't heard anything for months and months.

Now how do we keep score with Iraq? Clinton imposes sanctions for six years. A consensus is never built with the local allies. Saudi Arabia takes Iraq's market share. We loosen our grip. Saddam starts pumping. Our domestic oil industry gets slammed as a result. Now our international oil companies get cut out of the action. What did we get for our trouble? Saddam is still there and growing with no possibility of concerted international action against him. Our domestic industry is in the tank with its recovery dependent upon OPEC holding together and Saddam not increasing production further. Looks like Saddam lost the first game but won the set.
