meathead..isn't dell business primarily pc's....not the same for ibm...$2b of all lease machines more significant to a $20b company, then to a more diverse $80b entity..

imho not a good idea...will dilute new unit sales...ibm doesn't care...after all to them "the pc is dead"....tells you a bit about diminishing margins when you must assist in asset recovery from your customers...

you are quite concerned about me and my posts...you are even responding to a post that did not mention you...talk about insecurity, and trying to save face after the long discourse you give on just about everything...

stop worrying about me, let's end it...i have no interest in anything you set forth...your vision and attempts at veering the conversation of off lease pc's to better suit your view just blew up in your face..

yes i have time, why because i pay people as yourself to take care of the daily tedium...you think "mikey" busy all day with dell...i don't think so....

speak from your own mind...lead, not follow...

ciao my friend....no more left to say.....

Meathead, if you stop to think about pc's coming off of their leases, what do you do with them? Guess you could turn them into boat anchors. Selling on the internet is a very low cost method of selling most products. So, why won't Dell sell the returned pc's on the net? Is an auction the best way to go? Don't know, haven't given it much thought. I would assume Dell would limit the auction to their pc's and not start an eBay type of auction site.

PS: Seems that you and Edamo have a "thing" going on the thread. <ggg> He's a good guy. You should extent him some room, you know, the age thing. <VBG>

PPS: One thought came to me that I think is worth noting. For each pc sold through the auction site, I suspect one less new pc will be sold. So, I hope Dell has done their math on this auction concept.

TO ALL: I can't believe that one of the formerly best threads SI had to offer has degenerated as badly as it has of late. Grow up. I'm hanging out elsewhere for awhile.

****** OT ******

Meathead, with all respect, take a chill pill on edamo. He's bald like me, and I feel compelled to defend him.

It's a shame you missed out on going after CMGI. Unless, of course, there are bigger CPQ fish to fry...but I know it's more prudent from a shareholder point of view to pick the low hanging fruit. And I share your enthusiasm: "What's CPQ's, is mine....."

Best regards and good computing,

Mark A. Peterson
