SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 28, 1999--e.Digital Corp. EDIG announced today that a single institutional investor has made a $3 million equity investment in the company.

The transaction was facilitated by New York based Jesup & Lamont Securities Corp.

"This investment strengthens our financial stature with OEM partners," said Fred Falk, president and chief executive officer of e.Digital. "We are positioned to take advantage of new opportunities in the rapidly growing handheld device markets for voice, music, and data, and have enhanced our engineering and technical talent to support emerging relationships."

Falk continued, "Because of our inclusion as an inaugural member of the IBM-sponsored VoiceTIMES alliance and our OEM relationships with Lanier Worldwide, Intel Corp. and Lucent Technologies, we have tremendously increased our visibility and new business opportunities. Based on fulfilling our initial $3 million purchase order from Lanier, and projects underway with Intel and Lucent, we expect financial results for fiscal year 2000 to improve significantly."
