Craig,

In my brief touring of some on-line retailers it seems as if the 64 MB SanDisk CompactFlash cards will be available by the second week of July. I believe other manufacturers (Lexar, et. al.) have made these capacities available sooner.

At the SanDisk c.c. it is always mentioned that the average MB per unit sold is in the mid-teens or less, so I guess that marketing feels it is best to release the higher end stuff only as demand ramps up. Thus, they are waiting for some of the newer, higher resolution digital cameras to sell and then will make the 64 MB cards available in the aftermarket. That way you don't end up crowding the retail shelves with a bunch of high density cards and get stuck with inventory.

I predict that the 64 MB cards will follow in the footsteps of the 48 MB cards and make it high up into the top 100 hit list. In fact, I just ordered a Cassiopeia E-100 as my recreational palmPC (while my NEC MobilePro 770 remains my business companion) and would love 2 hours of mp3 enjoyment.

SSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't tell my wife!
