Just for fun....

A Day In The Life of The Milennial Woman

I have every appliance to do all my chores.
I have hundreds of choices of wares at the stores.
My checkbook has been replaced with a card.
Yet why does it seem sometimes life is so hard

I send e-mail to my friends on the net in a flash.
An ATM machine delivers my cash.
My car's computer tells me what's wrong.
Yet, why isn't my heart singing a happy song.

Well, my teething baby cried all through the night.
Then his two siblings started a fight.
But before I could referee and make things get cool.
Fido chased Fluffy into the pool.

I'm having too many of those bad hair days.
And now I'm starting to worry about those U.V. rays.
Yes, I also worry about my relationships.
And, PLEASE, don't even mention the word "HIPS".
(Whoops, I meant to say H.I.P.S.);~)

I'm running so late and my car's low on fuel.
That "tailgater" behind me is seeking a duel.
Rain drops start falling, and traffic just crawls.
NO, IT CAN'T BE!!!! The car ahead has just stalled.

Dinner's finally served, and it wasn't that great.
Didn't even notice it was getting so late.
And after much prodding, school homework gets done.
Then finally, I've made it to the setting of the sun.

It's the end of the day, and all the stress is hard to bear.
Even after I sit down on my so called "EASY CHAIR".
I've had a tough day, I've been stretched to the max.
Hubby thinks he's solved it all by saying, "HONEY JUST RELAX!!"
:~(

O Me! O Life!

by Walt Whitman

O me! O life!... of the questions of these recurring;
Of the endless trains of the faithless -- of cities fill'd with the foolish;
Of myself forever reproaching myself, (for who more foolish than I, and who more faithless?)
Of eyes that vainly crave the light -- of the objects mean -- of the struggle ever renew'd;
Of the poor results of all -- of the plodding and sordid crowds I see around me;
Of the empty and useless years of the rest -- with the rest me
intertwined;
The question, O me! so sad, recurring -- What good amid these, O me, O ;ife?

Answer.

That you are here -- that life exists, and identity;
That the powerful play goes on, and you will contribute a verse
