hastens the day of integration of the car radio and cell phone with the car computer, including internet informational access and GPS for a total communications package.

The car companies look upon this as a source of very large profits at the moment. The prices they want make it out of reach for most people. It looks like it is a ways down the road.

Or just a very simple cheap chip called Bluetooth in your car radio and your phone just knows when it is in there and goes into hands free mode using some industry standard handsfree convention....
