I can't remember the context of that remark. Ed has very subtle way about him. I'm going to watch it again during the day tomorrow - less competition.....

He said what you have reported (We will soon not need a player) But I have no idea what he has in mind. Perhaps this is part of the new technology that he will roll out in November. Then again, perhaps he is counting on new technology that he envisions but that has not been invented yet.

Hope this flies,
Steve

I watched the presentation and after thinking about all the moves Ampex has made over the past year and the potential that lies ahead - I bought back in. If AXC wants to base here near $4 and hang around for a while until I can get some more cash - it won't make me a bit mad! Long and hoping I can get longer before the train leaves. I figure that by the time the releases hit this fall - there will have been enough people wake up and enough leaks that it will be more expensive then.

I work in the SCADA systems control world so I did a cut and paste and sent the link to many of my friends that have technical backgrounds to see if they see the sleeping giant. It seems to me that this presentation today may get a lot more play than people think. Especially if everyone is as excited about it as I am and telling their friends also. Now that it is archived when I want to tell someone about the new Ampex - I just email them the link! I sent a dozen emails tonight. A lot of my friends have worked on Ampex equipment and I think they will be surprised when they see where Ampex is now.

The seeds are planted - they say - Build it - They Will Come. I sure hope so.

Mike, Yes, I do think it is significant re no need for a player..opens it up to every computer right. I am still reacting to that and the following; Ampex will have technology for better picture and smoother video;Bramson talked about a "million channels" on the internet (do the math!!!); they have capacity for 200 hours of programming a week; Bramson considers the opportunity "once in a lifetime" or "once in every other generation (take your pick); UK probably will be next for acquisition..........or the graphics screens; the info from Paul Kagan on growth potential---197% revenue growth a year projected for internet tv etc etc; Ampex has technology for next generation video games (I missed this the first time)

Baby, there is a lot here. I'll have to watch several times more....

This is the tech stuff that EB is talking about. At least this should be the stuff he's talking about. He didn't invent it. But it's certainly kool that he use it.
And I APPROVE. TIC (toung in cheek).

webradio.com

This is cutting edge stuff.... : "Emblaze" Javabased streaming media technology.

Don't let the 'radio' in webradio fool ya. This should stop the speculation as to what his choice of "new technology" will be. And draw a line to where Ampex is headed....Interactive video.

Let the content load. It's worth it.
