Calman88,

Do you know WHERE the pilot batches of nicotine gum were made? FYI, GUMM addopted a contract manufacturing strategy a little over a year ago. Since that time it has been working with a number of companies to develope and manufacture functional chewing gums for sale by those companies. BreathAsure dental gum and AcuTrim Diet Gum, among others, have resulted from this effort. Around a year ago GUMM doubled its manufacturing space, in part so that it could dedicate a production line to nicotine gum. It has been selling nicotine gum overseas through PharmaGreen.

The following is a quote by William Hemelt, GUMM's CFO, from a May 14th press release:

>>Hemelt concluded, ''We are working to close the financing with Citadel Investment Group in the very near future. The financing will enable us to fund the next stage of the Gel Tech LLC joint venture, as well as capital expenditures for further improving our production efficiency, and continued work on our nicotine gum project. Bringing a nicotine gum to market as rapidly as possible is one of the company's top priorities.''<<

I assume that "bringing a nicotine gum to market" includes working toward FDA approval of the product and any necessary certifications for the manufacturing facility. Whether GUMM has been doing this in conjunction with WPI or on their own, I can't say. How close they are to getting approval, I can't say. If any other chewing gum manufacturer has been working on a nicotine gum it is one of the best kept secrets in history. I'm betting that GUMM was the unnamed manufacturer mentioned in the conference call and that GUMM and WPI can come to an agreement that will benefit them both.
