That's nice but that alliance will not generate much revenue for Sun and could potentially harm Sun's low end server product offerings. Sun's revenues are generated from moving iron.

If 3rd party software vendors start supporting Solaris X86 then this could be a threat to MSFT's move into the server space. Traditionally the big vendors have backed away from Solaris x86 ... but with the recent Linux interest this may change.

You could be right! If we can ever find a good LINUX/UNIX interface for our PC, I believe WINDOWS is dead.

I am sure that I am not the only one who is fed up with looking at those little blue Windows boxes that tell you: you have performed an illegal operation. Then, I have to reboot!

UGH! I hate Windows!!!!!!!!! You can't imagine how much PC time I waste because of MSFT products......
