No, you are correct. The article I have not been able to reference specifically studied abortion for sex selection. This merely demonstrates the prejudice in favor of boys, and does not show that sex selection is common. Some of the links that seemed promising were dead, and I could not get a clear reading outside of the Third World, which you excluded. I will try again later...
