Accidently, the professor who taught me Artificial Intelligence in Northwestern received a PhD in both computer science and recognition psychology from MIT. People in AI field should also have solid knowledge in psychology, it is absolutely relevant. You may need to ask Snyder in person what exactly he was studying in Minnesota. Based on his background in Microsoft, he is not likely to be one of those people who are interested in Victoria Secret. JMHO.
