I think that it is so easy to get away with abortions, at least early in a pregnancy, that if it is lucrative, the current crop of abortion providers will simply be driven underground, and therefore most everyone who seeks an illegal abortion will have competent medical attention.

Doesn't sound likely to me.

In order to determine if the reasons are sufficient, we must assess the arguments for a ban as opposed to the arguments against. You cited certain statistical correlations that you would use to support a ban; I cited an example of how a train of logical though could be used to construct an argument supporting the idea that a certain statistical correlation does in fact represent a causative relationship. Would you care to do the same.

I would be interested in hearing how reducing the number of unwanted children increases the likelihood of child abuse.
