X, once again, thanks for a thoughtful posting that tries to sort the questions with balance. And I do agree that the questions abortion presents for a society are troubling.

I have posted on this subject before, as you know. I am troubled by the exclusionary aspects of defining "persons." Maddening as it may be when considering a woman's right to determine what happens to her body, I am reminded that it was not all that long ago that women and African Americans were not considered legal persons.
