Mark - Thanks for fielding those questions. Perhaps you could comment/validate/refute the following quote:

"There are three versions of the MCNS DOCSIS specifications: DOCSIS 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2. The DOCSIS 1.0 specification, which was ratified in 1998, employs a TDMA physical layer for the upstream and downstream, but it does not provide Quality of Service (QoS) in either the upstream or downstream. DOCSIS 1.1, which is expected to be ratified in early 1999, employs the same physical layer as DOCSIS 1.0 and incorporates QoS control. DOCSIS 1.2, scheduled for released in the first quarter of 1999, will adopt S-CDMA for the upstream and keep TDMA for the downstream in the physical layer. DOCSIS 1.2 will also provide QoS control."

There seems to be a general level of confusion between DOCSIS compliancy and CableLabs certification. Perhaps you could clarify the linkages and dependencies that exist, if any.

Thanks for your comments !
