john, thanks for that info. this is a site that i visit almost daily. i have not noticed that reference before. strange that it would be posted with a 5/15/99 date. perhaps it was updated on that 5/15 date. isearch.intel.com scroll down and then click on: Focus: Growing the Standards Base for High Volume Servers [5/15/99] (29kb) when searching this site i usually increase the items from the default 25 to 50 or more. unclewest
