Long ago we found a reference to Xoma Corp. or XOMA something. I do not believe what is referred to as an affiliate is some independent contract outfit. I believe it is just what it says, an affiliate formed for tax purposes. The tax law is so complex that corporations end up going through all sorts of hoops to minimize taxes. Also Xoma as we know it, located in Berkeley and Santa Monica are either subsidiaries or affiliates of the XOMA Ldt. located in Bermuda. So other than an issue to make post about I don't see this affiliate stuff as significant. Of course 99% of the stuff I have raised is not either.

BTW don't forget to check the XOMA board on RagingBull for a link found on post 96 to a god source of XOMA information. New information, for many of us at least, just appeared on this link.

From the Japanese Partnering Conference.

Current XOMA Activities in Japan

* LBP diagnostic in partnership with SRL

* NEUPREX clinical trials planned

Yes, of course, it all depends on ones definition of the word planned. Perhaps if we ever get a Japanese partner we will plan to do clinical trials here.

Or perhaps the trauma trial expansion to 60 centers includes some in Japan? Speculation on my part. Something to ask XOMA about for those of you who call.
