"Westell will work closely with TollBridge Technologies, Jetstream Communications and CopperCom Inc., to achieve interoperability between its Communications Portal(TM), located on the customers' premise, and these voice Gateways, located in carriers' switching centers. These solutions will provide users with voice quality comparable to today's circuit networks, and enable simultaneous high-speed data connections.

In addition to its efforts with these premier Gateways vendors, Westell plans to achieve interoperability with established DSLAM vendors as it brings the Communications Portal(TM) to market."

In my estimate this is very significant. At Supercomm the buzz was Voice over DSL. It makes the economics of DSL deployment very attractive. One line becomes many for the small business without having to actually add lines.

Today's announcements by Westell disspells any fear I had that Westell was not working with significant others in this regard. This is big in my estimate for Westell and makes June 29th a special day and justifies my long support of the company.

All the best,
Michael
