CAXTON--You did see the much earlier post where NTT DoCoMo's competitors were stopping random passers-by in a public setting and giving them the Pepsi test. They let them talk on both a DoCoMo phone and then a CDMA phone and asked them which had the better sound. These responses are then tabulated, posted on the net, used in advertisements, etc. Numbers are, of course, overwhelmingly in favor of CDMA.

Japanese are some of the most status concious people on the earth. They buy Gucci this and Rolex that even if they can't really afford them. When one oriental meets another one, the first thing they try to figure out is who has the higher status. These trinkets are intended to give others a big clue that they are most wealthy and important. You bet they will have to have a CDMA phone--preferably w/ a PALM PIOT someone can translate Palm into Japanese.

You might say that DoCoMo is taking a "Sound Beating."

Publicly DoCoMo says they will have their W-CDMA started by apx Q3, 2001.

And OUR experts say it may take a year to tune up W-CDMA. IF Q EXECUTES CORRECTLY, by getting phones and ASICS shipped, all oposition will be overwhelmed over the next 2 years. This is truly an "S-curve", Tornado marketing process.
