When the indexes were down 20 percent last year, the average stock was down almost 45 percent from their March highs. They didn't sell the nifty fifty stocks till the latter part of August. At least this time, the brokers are taking some of the air out of stocks by raising margin requirements. Unfortunately, the air is still in the nifty fifty tech stocks.
