If one can download events and movies from cable or the internet there would be copywrite issues. Why would a removable media solution be preferable to a cheaper fixed disk solution. Are users renting movies via download or buying them ? I still maintain, most Americans still cannot program a VCR. VCR+ or not. 7 day programming is still programming to most people. A DVCR would have to be completely idiot proof. Eliminating the removable disk would be the first step.
