Our home inspections have always been very non-productive.

Congratulations. Your offer was obviously too high and you probably left some money on the table. But we did the same thing when we bought our house and the foregone anxiety from not having to make another offer was worth the $1,500 or so we could have saved by dickering further. Besides, the seller had an open house scheduled for the next day and probably would have been offered more than their asking price.

Good luck with the inspection, bank and title company.
