I do sort of do that already- I buy and sell antiques. There is much posturing in doing that. It is obligatory to hem and haw and find defects in the object which one contemplates buying. First price is never never THE price. In fact, I think that dealers frequently have no idea what their "real" price is until they are forced to bargain. I know what I am willing to pay before I begin arguing- if the haggling hits my price then I buy.
