ANCR and Interphase INPH both new highs - Fiber channel exploding.

Market cap on INPH is only a little over $100 million.

Kurt,

<<I was surprised by your remark that IBM needs more
presence with Unix. I would say that IBM has a very
strong lineup regarding parallel computing with Unix
clusters. >>

IMHO IBM does not have a robust unix product line which can compete head to head with SUN and HP. The different models of RS/6000 and the Netfinity product lines that IBM offers does not provide what the current market want in terms of web/content hosting, heavy storage and online transaction processing. IBM's own server farms use SUN equipments and they are selling like hot cakes for e-commerce and content hosting. These platforms are set and rollout as cookie cutters.

Sequent has something IMO is unique. Their SMPs have quite a few fans and perform rather well as I recall. They use Brocade switches for clustering storage devices together. They use something called 'IQ-link' to cluster their NUMA-Q processors together. Like I said before, Sequent's way of using FC is non-standard I believe. However, it may look attractive to IBM so that they may leverage their strong sales force to market it...cut down their dependency on SUN??
