I still think that Starr has soft-pedalled on Clinton because if he pries too deeply a lot of Republicans would be embarrassed too.

It would only make sense that the Chinese gave cash to both sides in 1996 in order to be able to influence US policies, no matter who the eventual winner of the election.

On the other hand, maybe the Republicans were approached by the Chinese and rebuffed them...
