RC, I expect the 1.44MB floppy to stay around. It is simply very
cheap to add to a box. Jim Porter of DiskTrend thinks so.
iMac of course doesn't have a floppy drive. I saw an
add-on USB floppy at Fry's for $100. Next to it a USB ZIP for
$129. But a box maker pays less than $15 for a floppy drive and
Reseller has stated they pay under $50 for an internal ZIP.

So keeping up the pressure to reduce manufacturing cost seems
the way to go for Iomega. BTW, the hard disk drive industry
is in the same bind. They get no respect from box makers and
now every one of the big three [SEG, QNTM, WDC] has warned.

Maybe an investors' time would be better spent on other
industries. :(
