Company says yes...new launch on the 1st.

Should have several travel partners added, and a whole new look.

I have heard rumours that Realm is looking for financing to continue development. I am assuming that CBM will need to do the same at some point in order to keep up their interest in Discover Canada.

Seems to be confusion on the street about ownership of the Discover Canada site. CBM has been fulfilling their part of the agreement with Realm and when fully vested they will own 49% of Discover Canada. There is no shot-gun clause so Realm can't just hop out of the deal. A lot of rumours have been spreading about Realm taking back the 49% they sold. They seem to be unhappy with the arrangement - I'm assuming it's basically because they realized that they sold 49% of an excellent business venture for peanuts.
Shrewd move on the part of CBM management!

From talking to the company it is my understanding that CBM has no interest in selling their 49% back to Realm and will continue making the monthly payments to fulfill their end of the contract.

...it sure would be nice if they'd put out some news!

Kind of stupid to launch on Canada Day with no promotions going on to tell people about it!!!

Mr. Robert McMorran reports
Cambridge Ventures has been advised by Realm Group that Canada Day has been set as the launch date for the new Discover Canada Web site (http://www.discovercanada.com). Pursuant to the terms of an option agreement with Realm Group Inc., Cambridge Ventures has advanced funds toward the development of the Discover Canada Web site, which is being developed by Realm Group Inc.
Discover Canada is a unique on-line travel service. The Discover Canada Web site provides clear, concise information on the Best of Canada while the Discover Canada Travel Desk, part of the American Express Global Travel Network, provides comprehensive booking services. The Discover Canada Travel Desk, a partnership with Seven Seas, an American Express travel representative, runs a professionally staffed call centre, that specializes in Discover Canada Travel Partner packages. The Discover Canada Travel Partners represent premier travel packages in the key areas of rail tours, skiing, golf, adventure, ecotouring, Alaska cruises and English-as-a-second-language training.
Other features of the new Discover Canada site include Discover Canada Radio, a streaming audio show that will highlight interviews with Canada's top tour operators, as well as event updates, travel package specials, and weekly contests and prizes.
Cambridge Ventures maintains the right to earn a 49-per-cent interest in Discover Canada. Cambridge has met all financing commitments to date and expects to complete its vesting in the next few weeks comprised of cash payments of $50,000 and the issuance of 500,000 common shares.

Site is up...any comments?

I like it.

Content is still light but I'm sure that they are working on it. Now that the new site is up they should have no trouble signing up more travel partners.

Two friends e-mailed me and commented that they needed more photos - I would tend to agree.

I tried the Radio part but it downloaded a file to my desktop...I'd rather see something inside the website like real audio - but that's just my opinion.

Standard advertising and banner ads are good but what would really kick things into high gear would be for Discover Canada to sign an exclusive deal with Yahoo , Excite, or something like the Microsoft Expedia travel site...something to ensure a good traffic flow.
