Yes, a soft opening is a good thing. Working out the unforeseen kinks and bugs on light traffic is a must. You cannot simulate the real thing in this type of business. You have to do it for real.

Too much is invested to have a full blown opening, only to lose many potential customers due to an unforeseen obstacle. If goon-line is successful, word will get around and quickly.

the problem with a 'soft opening' is that there is no 'build-up' to the opening... it just sorta opens..... and then, once the site is up, there is nothing to look forward to for the 'Grand Opening'.......... by then, everyone will know what the site is all about! the excitement will have already died down by then! i certainly hope management has thought this through!!!!!!
