Concerns about DOJ/FTC approval should be secondary - all that can be
sorted out in the future, meanwhile DELAYING any possibility of VIA
entering the x86 market and p*ssing in everybody's soup.

Who's that I see in the distance? I think it's Fuchi taking aim at your soup. If this deal goes through, his dream of low cost Cyrix CPU's flooding Asia may yet come to pass.
