Quote.com:

Is my computer flipping out and not reading the java, or did quote.com take the little "choose time" window out of their free version of LIVE charts? I loved that feature... if it is gone, I will be in dire need of the IQC charts integration... and fast.

Hi to all -
New to SI/new investor, first post, enough lurking.

First time into the stock market with a mid-May GNET purchase at 136 (small position, just to get my feet wet). Watched it drop to 90 and had to decide to: a)get the h%#* out of the market forever, or b) cut loose some $ and average down. Glad to report that I chose the latter and wanted to express my appreciation to all, because this thread has been and continues to be a tremendous resource.

Susan/Pareto/Grace, even though I can't claim to have bought like THOUSANDS of shares at like $.50 (split-adjusted, of course), I am humbly requesting a spot on the GNET Long List based on the fact that "I have owned GNET as long as I have been investing". Should count for something. (...hate to beg, but the dangling t-shirt carrot got to me...)

Re the DSL/cable issue, I remembered reading a DSL vs. cable article in the Seattle Times and was able to go find it in the archives. It's kind of lengthy, but well worth the read IMO.

FWIW, I work in a small office of 9 and we use a DSL connection. It's a tremendous value for a co this size, because you pay the same as residential but can serve all your users (networked through Windows workgroup, in our case) off one ISP account. We are paying about half of what we would (did) pay with dial-ups for everyone!

At home (Seattle suburb) I use a dial-up and recently looked into my options. TCI (current tv provider and terrible at it) will not offer service in my area until this fall. As Tech-guy previously mentioned, DSL is only available within 3 "copper miles" (15,000 feet) of the central office - the phone company is checking to see if I am within range. So far, they have been checking for a week.

After her(Mary Meeker)clients loaded up. Glad i am in NYC (heard some street talks) and have used other valuations on the Inet players.
Believe Paul Allen, believe GNET management.
