FWIW, diana thinks the correction is over, and the next leg up will begin very soon---perhaps has already. I think there is No reason to think OSX is going to the low 60's, and in fact it is oversold here. Good (or at least not bad) #s from API tonite together with the relief of only a 1/4 point fed increase and the fact that the second half of '99 is starting and we're getting closer to next year's spending increases..... Rising Demand and OPEC producers holding firm and committed to $18-20Brent....I think there's every reason to be Long Now and I am. Perhaps TA guys will be right and we'll see a bit more down, but Reason tells me not to expect it.

We'll see.
Good Luck to All
regards,
diana

Slider, EOG ceo Papa is predicting a shortage in gas come this winter.

biz.yahoo.com

Imo, this guy was incredibly smart in NOT slashing his OS capex budget and getting his OS at dirt cheap trough prices going out three years. While I realize that the majors have slashed their costs, they still HAVE to drill at some time. I mean what are they going to do? Become futures traders? <g> Use their refineries to make spam and cheeze wiz? <g> Sooner or later the directors and stock holders are going to start asking "Where did all our Oil go?" Loaded with cash, what the hell else is an oil company going to do? DRILL!

If Papa is right, a substantial pickup for drilling gas should start within the next few months while the weather is still good in the northern climes, and GOM, as others begin to see what Papa sees. JMVVHO

You raise some very interesting points in your post. I'd like to address them in small chunks as I mull them over in the next couple of days.
