Jim, <What exactly does VIA get when it buys Cyrix? MediaGX, M-II, MXi, PCOAC, Maine fab?> They may get more than all that questionable business - a protection against Intel's lawsuits, and just dump all the junk later.

MediaGX, M-II, MXi, PCOAC, Maine fab?> I don't know but the rumor that makes most sense is VIA gets MII, Jalapino and the Intel cross license stuff to go with it; it makes more sense for TSMC to get the fab than VIA to get one. It may be too premature at this point but I can't see too much of a positive outcome for the micro players and when I saw Intel's run-up, I decided to take a shot at it. Let's see. Chuck
