Why didn't Inkatomi (INKT) get hit on the Altavista news? Lycos will replace Inkatomi's serach engine on HotBot with AltaVista's search interface.

CPQ speaks:
We are not selling AltaVista. What we are doing is trading 100% ownership of one Internet company for a significant ownership in a portfolio of over 40 Internet companies that really is part of our Internet strategy. It greatly broadens our reach and breadth in the Internet area.

Interesting.... huh?

Millionairess: Thanks for the post it was interesting to read. I'm glad my horse is hitched to DW and not CPQ. Unfortunately I think that Compaq is not a well run company (or they would be able to buy CMGI) I just wish all of this cross marketing would happen with GTW or DELL or somebody who knows how to sell a product! JMHO
