B: General Magic, Inc. CEO Steve Markman Talks to The Wall Street Transcript

NEW YORK, Jun 29, 1999 (BUSINESS WIRE via COMTEX) -- The Wall Street
Transcript has published an in-depth interview with Steve Markman of
General Magic, Inc. (Nasdaq:GMGC), in which he talks at length about
his company's future.

He says, "General Magic is in the business of voice-enabled services,
and we're building a market for those services. We are making it
possible for people to access important information - electronic
content, for example, as well as personal information like e-mail and
voice-mail - all by using their own voice. We focus our core
competencies in user interfaces on creating a verynatural language user
interface. It allows people to either use the computer or pick up a
phone and have access to all of their important information."

He explains, "On June 15, we introduced myTalk, a free Web service that
lets consumers access and respond to e-mail messages over the phone
using a toll-free number."

He states, "We've also launched a technology we call Kenya, which is
voice-agent technology. You can literally use this voice-agent
technology to do things on your behalf without being connected at all.
The agent will watch over the Internet for you, and when important
things happen, it will pick up the phone and call you."

Looking forward, he states, "We're in the middle of what's clearly
going to be a very hot market. We are in a unique position of having
unique technologies that are very, very hard to duplicate. We are
already the acknowledged leader in this area. And so, deals are going
to be coming our way."

I am also waiting for the "bottom" on GMGC before entering. Anyone care to hazard a guess as to where that might be? (I was thinking 3, maybe 3 1/4?
