How can you send an e-mail if you're not connected to the internet?

Craig, ZixMail requires that the user must have a browser working in the background to send an email (in order for it to connect to CUST server and retrieve a public code). That's the restriction.

Regards,

Tom

Point 6 is very relevant. As I can see it, this application, if it works, is going to be used by companies, not individuals, who don't generally care about security. I think that most companies would want the encryption/decryption servers in-house (for security and reliabilty reasons). I would think they'd go with packages such as Lotus Notes that have such offerings.

Craig,

The reality and the hype seem inconsistent. CUST claimed in their press release yesterday:

biz.yahoo.com

ZixMail enables Internet users worldwide to send and receive encrypted and digitally signed email communications without changing their existing email addresses or their existing email systems.

All of these comments (yours and Tom's) sound like significant changes to users current e-mail systems.
